How it works
Your trip begins with a warm welcome and a quick safety briefing from your guide. You’ll get all the gear you need — no wetsuits required, just wear clothes you don’t mind getting splashed and shoes that can get wet.
What you get
Once you're ready, you'll hop into the raft and start your journey on the calm waters of the River Corrib. Your guide handles the steering, so you can sit back, paddle gently if you like, and enjoy the peaceful flow of the river.

Booking information
Cancellation Policy: Notify us at least 3 days in advance to cancel or reschedule to avoid charges.
Arrival Time: Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment for a smooth experience.
Age Limit: Children must be at least 6 years old.
Children supervision: For private raft bookings, children must be accompanied by two adults; for open bookings, one adult is required.
Age restriction: All participants under 17 are considered minors and must be accompanied by an adult over 25.
Alcohol and drugs are strictly prohibited before and during the activity: We reserve the right to refuse service to uncooperative customers.
Galway Rafting does not permit stag/hen parties. Any group found to be part of a stag party will have their booking canceled without a refund.

1. Is Rafting similar to kayaking in Galway?
Rafting is a group water activity using an inflatable raft. It’s different from kayaking, which is usually solo in a small boat. If you're searching for kayaking in Galway, our rafting tours on the River Corrib offer a similar connection with the water — but with a unique social twist. Calm, scenic, and perfect for beginners.
2. How is rafting different from kayaking in Galway?
Rafting is done in a large raft with a guide and group of paddlers in one Raft all together. Kayaking is usually solo and requires more skill. Rafting on the River Corrib is easier then kayaking and great for all ages.
3. Do I need experience to go rafting in Galway?
No experience needed. Our guided rafting tours on the River Corrib are beginner-friendly with calm waters and no rapids.
4. Can our rafts Capsize?
No our rafts cannot capsize in flat water conditions making them perfect for family adventures.
5. How long is the rafting tour?
Tours take about 2 to 3 hours.
6. What should I wear for rafting?
Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes that can get wet and shoes that can get wet. Safety gear is provided.
7. Is rafting safe on the River Corrib?
Yes, the River Corrib section we use has no rapids. All tours have experienced guides and safety equipment.
8. Can children join the rafting tours?
Yes, kids aged 6 and up can join. It’s a family-friendly activity in Galway.

What we recommend to bring
Footwear: Wear shoes that can wet.
Waterproof mobile phone case: If your planning on bringing your phone, put it in a waterproof case.
First aid kit: Please bring a first aid kit, including any medication you may need.
Rafting clothes: Wear warm sports clothing and waterproof jacket — clothes that can get wet are essential.
For after rafting: Bring a warm change of clothes and a towel.
We are not currently able to offer a changing facility on site, nor can we store your valuables.
